The parish of Delaval covers the villages of Seaton Sluice and New Hartley, as well as the ancient hamlet of Seaton, which has largely disappeared. The Christian Church in this area has a long history - traceable, some say, to Saxon times, and has gone through many changes. To read more about the history of the parish, and of its constituent churches, follow the linkson the left hand side of this page. Today, although the Anglican presence is comparatively strong, it is clear that we are not the only Christian church in the parish. We have good relationships with other churches in the area, and are part of a covenant with Delaval Churches Together. The contact details of our co-workers from other denominations are given below Elsdon Avenue United Reformed & Methodist Church, Seaton Delaval Seghill Methodist Church The Parish of Holy Trinity Seghill & St. Mary’s Holywell Our Lady & St. Joseph’s, New Hartley (Roman Catholic) Seaton Sluice Methodist Church We also are in the process of developing closer links with the parish of Cramlington, by setting up a joint local ministry group. |
